The Basilica of San Marco, or Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of San Marco, is one of the most emblematic monuments of Venice and one of the main places of worship in the city. Construction of the basilica began in 828 to house the relics of St. Mark, the evangelist, which had been brought to Venice from the city of Alexandria in Egypt. Over the centuries, the basilica underwent several renovations and expansions, reflecting different architectural styles, including Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic.

The main facade is characterized by five portals, golden mosaics, columns and sculptures. The colorful domes and bell tower, Campanile di San Marco, help make the basilica an architectural icon of Venice. Inside the basilica there are several altars and chapels, each with its own history and works of art. Among these, the Pala d'Oro, an altar of gold, jewels and precious stones, which houses a collection of sacred relics.

This work is available on Fine Art photographic paper or on Tiziano Canvas. The inks used are of the highest quality and long-lasting, guaranteeing brilliant and long-lasting color rendering.
This image features a strong contrast between the dark silhouettes of the sculptures and spiers and the light background of the sky. The composition is dominated by the vertical lines of the statues, which rise majestically upwards. The dark figures stand out clearly against the light sky, creating an evocative and dramatic effect.
